WeChat Official Launch (Malaysia)

Although it has been there in the market over cross platform for several months, WeChat has finally (or officially) touch down in Malaysia, and to go along with the memorable moment, WeChat threw in a forgetful party with WeChat Party 2013 along side with the announcement of their Malaysia version of TVC as follow:



WeChat is also proud to announce the 2 local ambassador Lisa Surihani and Shaheizy Sam to bring WeChat to a further milestone. But wait this is a party, which mean they will be more than just press statement, and WeChat does know how to pamper its guest. There were performance, games, prizes, food, and most importantly unforgettable moment.

Upon registration, guest were greeted with a 'camwhore' photo machine where you get to pose like a star and get your photo printed as an extra door gift. Look at what this simple and yet personalise gift did to a bunch of blogger? More photo session :D

Because WeChat is all about mobile communication which support sending of voice, video, photo and text messages, guest were invited to scan a QR code where it would eventually grant them an invite to group chat with everyone else at the party. The chat session was also projected onto the huge screen at the center of the stage.

Soon after I mingle around with the bloggers and guest, the first performance kick in. It was the opening dance which is then follow by opening speech by the Emcee Rudy.

It was then followed by welcome speech by Mr. Poshu Yeung (Vice President of Tencent International Business). Mr Poshu Yueng too showcase the 3 TVC to the guest and with that dinner was served. There were tons of delight to choose from and I must say I enjoy most of the dish.

Then the party continue with  performance by Vivian Chua and Henley Hii.

While everyone is busy munching, there were the first round of ground activity. Guest are required to collect some puzzle like card located in their goodies bag to win some WeChat merchandise. I manage to get mine but forgotten to bring the other piece and left it on my table T_T. The first round of game is like battle of the sexes where 5 men vs 5 women and each is given an opposite gender based question to see which side could answer correctly most. The second round of game was much interesting and is like every man for himself in order to win an iPad mini.

Then there were also performance from Awi Rafael, a very talented handsome hunk who happen to be a singer/songwriter currently signed under Warner Music Malaysia and has released 2 albums. I'm really impress with his song and could really move to his rhythm even though it was my first time listening to it.

Just before WeChat call it a night, there was a spinning session by SkyoGroove along side with dance from the opening dancer. There were a lucky draw session too and the prize were really generous, from iPhone / iPod speaker to Beat headphone to even iPad mini.
