Jack The Giant Slayer

It is one of those reviving childhood story back when you're young hoping to make another round of success with the aid of technology. Get to watch Jack The Giant Slayer in TGV 1Utama on Tuesday night in 3D all thank to eCentral
Everyone who've heard of Jack & Jill will definitely know how the story go, and how it end. Thus there's nothing new in term of hype and freshness. However there's a slight twist in the plot to make things interesting with more than 1 giant tree.
The CGI was rather disappointing in the beginning of the show to be honest with you and it still is through out the movie especially when there's human in the scene. They didn't really blend well in some way but overall still better than many other CG. Do note that the 3D effect is near zero experience.

The Wedding Diary 2

This was a really unexpected gala premiere, I went to 1 Utama for dinner before heading over to Tesco to do some CNY shopping, but after dinner, the center court of 1 Utama got me attracted with loud speaking and loud blasting of The Wedding Diary 2 song. Only then I found out there's a screening there with the cast appearance. Thank to ZhiHow Ng I manage to get to watch the movie on the same night.
The movie is a continuous from The Wedding Diary with a whole new 'plot' to go with. This time round instead of focusing on the love life of the 2 love bird, it is about time to bring in a new baby boy to the family. It also cover the stress on both party when the honeymoon period is long gone and hell is about to break in.
The movie too is giving out fair screen time to the family from both husband and wife. With the big success from The Wedding Diary, they too manage to get big name like Chapman Tu to play a small scene in the movie. Like every great & successful begin, the 2nd part was rather below par, even when there were different things to focus in for The Wedding Diary 2, but still it is an enjoyable movie especially for the whole family.

Once Upon A Time

Is that time of the year again, where the cinema is flooded with crappy and no sense making movie that is in some way connected to the Chinese New Year theme. Once Upon A Time is no doubt once of it, and it will be release few days before CNY hopefully to get the high ticket sale. But is the movie worth you paying or even worth your time?
Thank to Kelly Chin I manage to score some invites where I could bring my friend along to watch the premiere screening in GSC 1Utama. The cast were mostly from Astro / MYFM and you'll probably be familiar with name like Jack Lim, Gan Mei Yan, Vivian Tok, Jeff Chin, Royce Tan, and etc. Like every time portal movie, it begin with a century where technology were not discover yet and unknowingly one or few of them from that century ventured into the new era.
I believe you could continue with the plot from there, that's how predictable the plot is to begin with. If that doesn't stop you from going all out to support local production blindly, there were some pretty lame action scene and not forgetting old school joke too.
Not every cast is equally bad in this movie, there were some that I felt was OK but still there were plenty room for improvement. This is judged based on after several movies they've acted in, the expectation is there but sadly it was not delivered. The plot is somehow very poor and weak. Is like there's not real purpose to the movie and the movie was made just because it was a resolution or something like that. The technology in this movie is 10-20 years back and it seriously drag down the overall quality to it.
