Buka Puasa with Alicafe Tiga Rasa

For those who used to dine in Alicafe Restaurant before have more reason to rejoice as they are back, and back for good with a whole new revamp dishes on its menu where it is not only better but also affordable.
There're some on going promotion during this Ramadan period where it cost only RM69.90 for a serving of four (4) pax and I will go through all the dish one by one in this blog post.
To summarize the dish is inclusive of a large pot of fragrant white rice, Assam Siakap, Deep Fried Chicken, Scrambled Egg, Steamed Pak Choy, Hokkaido Cake as dessert, and Kurma Juice.
The steamy hot bucket of super fragrant white rice is the base and a companion to other dishes and the bucket of rice is indeed well cook and is not sticky. The bucket is rather big portion and is more than enough to serves up to 5 person in my opinion
Let's begin with simple dish the scramble egg with sliced onions, sprint onions and red chilli in it. The aromatic scent could be felt upon serving it on the dining table. It had a crispy edge while the center part of it is fluffy. The spicy from chilli actually boost the appetite as it offer localize flavour to the diners.
There is always a good to have at least a green dish on the dining table and steamed pak choy with oyster sauce and sprinkle of fried garlic is indeed the best choice. The pak choy is really good and timely steam while preserving the crunchy on the root and the sweetness of the oyster sauce sweeten every bite while the crunch garlic enhance the chewing experience.
Deep fried chicken is the 3rd wonderful dish in a row where it is fried until golden brown where it offer a crispy crunch on the outer layer while the meat inside is juicy and tender. The only thing I wish they could do is to remove the bone so that I can munch without hassle. Anyway, the chicken is very well marinated before being fried and it is rich in flavour and is really finger licking good (assuming you're eating with your bare hand :p).
Last but not least from the set is assam siakap where the fish is being deep fried until well cook and is then showered by chef's special assam gravy for that extra flavouring. I love the crispy outer layer while enjoying the smooth and soft meat and the gravy isn't too sour but is a little bit spicy to me.
While it is delicious on all the food, the kurma juice play its role to refresh and open up my appetite for the night. The slightly sweet kurma juice can serves more than a cup each in a group of 4 pax and it chilled with ice cube for you to cool down after a spicy hot meal. It is rich and thick in texture and you might want to ask for extra ice cube to neutralize the sweetness in it.
The dessert part you'll be getting a hokkaido cake as the last item of the Ramadan special offer. The hokkaido cake is soft and fluffy on the center where a punch of cream is located and had a mildly hard texture on the surface where it is dusted with snow sugar. Every bite is extremely addictive and satisfying and one isn't enough.

That's all for the set, but if you love to try out more of Alicafe's dish you might want to consider grilled vegetable, grilled fish, or grilled lamb chop where you can customize your own gravy by using either Sambal Hebi Hiam gravy, Sambal Lemak gravy, or Gulai Lemak gravy.
We had all three dishes of the grilled series and had custom each to go with different gravy.
The grilled vegetable with sambal hebi hiam sauce is pure awersome and spicy. The mixed vegetable consist of long bean, brinjal, and lady finger where they are all well cooked with crunchiness still preserved to it. The sauce is actually make of  sambal with the additional of fine grind dried prawn and that explain why the sauce is extra aromatic and strong in both flavour and taste.
Next up is the grilled pari fish with gulai lemak. It is a tradition where in an authentic Malay cuisine, lemak or better known as the coconut milk play an important part in most of its dishes. The fish is well grilled with a very soft and tender meat on it and is mixed with long bean, brinjal, and lady finger. I love the fish because the bone is located at the center and it is easy to consume. The rich gravy actually did its part by giving spiciness to the dish and giving satisfaction to the diner.
The final add on dish is the grilled lamb chop with sambal lemak sauce. There are long bean, brinjal, and lady finger, and a piece of lamb that is good to serves 4 pax as an add on dish. The lamb meat is slightly tough and chewy but the sambal lemak sauce is the bomb. The taste is rich and flavourful that exploded in my taste bud.
If you are really keen for more dessert, try out the fried banana dessert. The dish is made of fried banana wrapped in dumpling skin instead of flour and is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream shower with chocolate syrup and sprinkle with a generous amount of chunk nuts. To eat you mix both ice cream and the fried banana together for a combination satisfaction from both hot and cold world. The dumpling skin does add on to the crispiness of the friend banana and is very unique indeed.
