Hantu Gangster

Namewee, the one who never fail to get international attention and never fail to spark a controversy where for good or for worse, had yet another movie after the huge success from Nasi Lemak 2.0.

Namewee is back for what proclaimed as another ROFLMAO material in Hantu Gangster with more cast, bigger budget, and better storyline.

Story begin in one of the small town back in the days where Te Sai (starred by Namewee) stole a ring from a memorial ceremony when the leader of the group was killed, and was later being hunted by all 3 murdered leader from 3 different race to seek Te Sai's aid in stopping a bigger clash among the 3 race and to stop the one who is responsible for stirring a up all these.

Personally I think there were way to many cast in this movie, and that cause some of them have very limited screen time. It is such a waste in term of cost and excitement when some pretty well known cast only appear like 20% of the movie.

Many people had 'complained' that with bigger budget come bigger disappointment which I partly agree to as Hantu Gangster introduce recycle idea from Nasi Lemak 2.0. Take for example the bery broken english joke, the head shaking guy who look like he is on estacy all the time, and few others.

There were also scene were they tried overly hard to pull a joke to it but doesn't really deliver the effect from it. All these are such a waste because all the cast were superb and pretty well known. Plot wise were rather typical as there weren't much twist in it but was good enough to watch though.

There were plenty of element jam packed into this movie like romance, spooky, comedy, action, family, and etc. For first timer you might find this interesting as everything is fresh but since Nasi Lemak 2.0 was a huge success, I bet most of you there have to bear with the recycle element mentioned earlier.

The movie send pretty clear message to the audience and it is still an enjoyable movie provided that you turn off your thinking cap and just enjoy it through out the 90 minute duration.
