Mr Popper's Penguins

It is Father's Day and I spent the whole morning in TGV Sunway Pyramid.... all alone, catching a preview screening of Mr Popper's Penguins like 2 weeks ahead before its official Malaysia release date. I did not get the invite initially, but thanks to my movie buddy Justin who spare me an extra ticket. There were also a large amount of uncollected passes and it was a waste giving 4 ticket to each person as not everyone come in 4.

Mr Popper's Penguins starring Jim Carrey, as we've already known for his funny expression has gone from crazy to normal recently. He did not hide under the radar but is definite in a slow and steady mode. His last few movies was rather normal and might even disappoint fans of his.

So does Mr Popper's Penguins bring back the mask in him? Or was it still the same bored humor guy? From the trailer I thought WTF is this movie and where's the point of it? But after watching it today, I have to take back partial of my word.

Come on, seriously, a man living with penguins, what good can it do? What joke can it break? Well there is still some humor sense in Jim that is tickling. Mr Popper's life changed when he received a package from his father who passes away. Popper who is a sweet talker who talk out of any deals he want is however a divorced man with 2 kids. So guess the ending will you?

Well it may seems that Popper went from crazy to nuts in the eye of other (like his boss, neighbor and etc) in the movie, there's an explanation behind every crazy act of his.

Witness how he redesign his life adventure with the newly adopted pets of his and how they change his life as a career successful man. The movie was played at a smooth pace, resting in between nothing too boring and nothing too hyper. Is a perfect blend for a tired-cum-muscle-pain-cum-sleepy Sunday morning.
