Finally Renowned Australia surf brand, Rip Curl (Malaysia) is proud to announce the brand partnership with the State Government of Terengganu on the up-coming first ever 6-star pro surf contest. Yes you read it right, we will soon have more and more surfing activity here in Malaysia if the response is good.

It will be held from 30th November 2012 to 2nd December 2012 at Batu Burok Beach, Kuala Terengganu. Rip Curl (Malaysia) too officially signed a 1 year deal with two of Malaysian surfer, Bryan Ng and Brenda Lee who have both won award all over and you can be sure that they are and they will be the best that represent Malaysia in this coming competition. Beside that Rip Curl (Malaysia) too renew Mohd Suhaimi contract, who is not just doing great in surfing but also aged 17 years old young.

Fans who is staying nearby might want to mark your calendar as this is a new beginning of surfing competition in Malaysia and I bet it will leave a high benchmark to the upcoming one the following year. The aim of this competition is to create interest in the healthy sport and to grow together with the brand in terms of reaching out to the ladies target audience and educating the female on what is surfing is all about, growing the local surfing community, providing a great opportunity to all Malaysian and serving as platform to anyone’s who is willing to give surfing a go and up scaling the surfing sports in our country.

The Terengganu Rip Curl Pro surf contest 2012 is a surf event sanctioned by the Asian Surfing Championship (ASC). During this 3-days 6-star pro event, surfers hails from different regions of South East Asia are expected to compete in five different divisions – Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Master Division and Bodyboard Open, and Longboard Open. There are total estimated over RM 40,000 worth of prizes up for grabs for the participant’s surfers.
