Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li

Was invited to watch premier screening of this movie last night at Cathay Cineplex Damansara, and damn those xxx FM fella, told me to reach at 7pm to collect ticket but only shown up at 8.30pm..

Back to the movie [Contain SPOILER - You've been warned!]

Well the story as the title suggested is all about Chun Li. Telling how Chun Li is brought up and how she turned into a street fighter.

Her dad was capture by M.Bison when she was young and she witness it with her own eye. Bison is assisted by Balrog, and Vega, and plenty of armed force. When Chun Li grown up, she wanted to trace and rescue her father. She was told to leave everything behind and to look for Gen in Bangkok. When she does, Ken teaches her some martial art and the ultimate power named 'ha-do-ken'.

Mean while Nash is on a mission to track and bring down Bison and his mate. You see, the story is kinda rush and there are too many character with individual line which lead back to one common objective / location at the end of the movie.

Fight scene is pretty short and there aren't much movie from the street fighter game, even if there is, it is not nicely done.. all the enemy was detected almost instantly.

Conclusion, Capcom is good in producing game like Street Fighter IV and should keep up the good work in gaming industry. Leave the filming to someone who is long and experienced enough to get the job done.

Character that appear in the movie are:
Chun Li - Kristin Kreuk

Gen - Robin Shou

Who apparently look like

Bison - Neal McDonough

Balrog - Michael Clarke Duncan

Vega - Taboo

Charlie Nash - Chris Klein

By the way there is gonna be a Street Fighter IV Tournament Malaysia 2009 this weekend. All happening in Cineleisure. Every participant will be given a goodie bag and 2 movie ticket to the movie as well. Heard that chances of playing this awesomely cool game on the super mega huge screen in the cinema too o.0..

The day after Valentine

Happy Valentine to all the sweet and lovely couple out there and to those who are still single, wish you could find your perfect match soon.. Anyhow 2 thing I need to highlight here
1.) Is both individual truely, sincerely, deeply love each other, any time can be valentine. Spend wisely.
2.) Why are there so many whining around for being single? Isn't single fun? No one love you more than yourself. Learn to love yourself before spreading it to other, and make sure that you are capable of taking care of yourself before you decided that you would want to take care of other.

Due to the unbearable, freaking hot weather me and my friends decided to head up to Genting for a refreshing night. There were me, Chloe (my sis), Jerry (Chloe's bf), Ah Bing, and Xin Ke (this two are potential couple). Nothing much up there except that I enjoy sitting and walking outside the resort and feel the chilling wind during midnight.

So the day after Valentine, headed to 1U, yea one of my frequent visited mall for free movie, Bride Wars.

Not bad, and the movie easily get 3 of out 5 star from me.

Oh ya also watched premier screening of New in Town on Saturday morning too..

By the way, anyone know why Valentine's Day falls on the 14 of Feb and not any other day? I heard that in the olden days young and single couple shouldn't be seeing each other 'openly' in street, but there was this couple who was caught hanging up on the street, and so the guy was executed. His name is Valentine. Thus people name Feb 14 as Valentine's Day and is a day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery

2 Movies, 1 Night, Single Soul

Initially got invited to the premium screening of Eden Lake. Went there gotten the best seat and waiting for time to tick while reading some article on my Pocket PC (PPC). Then spotted that another organize distributing another movie Punisher:War Zone on the same night same venue same time. Saw still a big stack left waiting to be given away, out of curiosity went to ask if I could get some invitation pass, to my surprise I manage to get 2 passes.
Thought of giving it to my friends but because it is quite last minute, didn't manage to pass it to anyone.

Have 2 choice now but still stick to Eden Lake as the poster look promising... and yea single soul means I watched the horror movie alone.. >.<
Thought it would be a ghost movie, but it is actually a thriller movie instead. Spoiler below

It started where a couple went for vacation in a place named Eden Lake. Is very outskirt and very remote. They planned to have a campaign there but as soon as they touch down, was greeted by a group of young gangster bullying other kids. Things get to get worse when Steve tried to confront the kids after a few unbearable event. Like any other young punk they were not happy and hijacked his car for a spin. A fight is assured and Steve accidentally kill the dog of the group member. They then started to seek revenge, torturing, and then murder the couple. Jenny however tried to escape, seeking for help in nearby town. To no avail, help is no where to be seen. This is where all the gruesome and disturbing scene are shown which at one point it chill down my spine. So Jenny keep running and hiding around bushes till as last when she thought that she have finally escape where actually she landed on the kid's house. The gang leader fake out some story telling the adults that Jenny kills one of them and this is where Jenny ended her last breathe after been choke to dead by the adults.

Pretty nice stuff, something similar to The Ruins. Here's the trailer

and this is how stewie pronounce ruins

Chinese New Year 2009

Chinese New Year (CNY in short) or Spring Festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is often called the Lunar New Year, especially by people in mainland China and Taiwan. The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th; this day is called Lantern Festival. Chinese New Year's Eve is known as Chúxī. It literally means "Year-pass Eve".
Source

Pre-CNY
Traditionally, I'm suppose to clean up the room, make some decoration all over the house, help preparing food and cookies for the guest, so on and so forth. Surprisingly I did none. Not only I didn't nothing but I went to the shopping mall countless time and few countable K session at Greenbox and Redbox. =.=" what an "arse" I am, but heck I'm lovin it.

By the way, anyone try this before? Roti Tisu Anaconda?

Reunion Night
As usual, there is this offering to those in my family that we treasure most that is no longer with us before the reunion start. Nothing much except that seeing my grandma able to walk again makes me feels happier that night.
Late that night went to another singing session with my bro JJ and Orange from 12 till 4am. We left the place last because orange suggested that we pick the 12min++ song from Leo Ku and we actually started to get tired and sore throat after 30 min it started.

Chinese New Year - Day 1
Headed to Port Dickson (PD) located in Negeri Sembilan where by grandma (mother side) live to pay them and my relative a visit. As expected there is another round of good food in PD.

My elder and younger cousin.
There are plenty more nice food but couldn't manage to snap it because there is this culture there, if you are slow nothing left on the table for you.. So instead of snapping I busy snatching food :p

To sum things up, the starting of 2009 it seems to have quite a number of sad case happen, stuff like accident, hospitalize, loved one pass away, uncollected debts, argument, and break in o.0.. Just hope after all these, things start to shape up.

Chap Goh Mei is coming, and it is known as Chinese Valentine Day too. It is also when young unmarried women gather to toss tangerines into the sea, in a hope that their future spouse will pick it up – a custom that originated in Penang, Malaysia.

So anyone is heading over to Taman Jaya / KL for the celebration? Heard it will be so happening that DJ will be there and there will be "boom box" to make the night too..

Whatever it is do take good care of yourself, love and respect yourself and don't be a fool like the girl in the following audio clip. Listen to the conversation between the girl and 2 Hong Kong DJ

Ong Bak 2

Starring Tony Jaa is the new movie titled Ong Bak 2.. Went to the special screening last night and gosh.. meet quite a number of people there.. but would just cut the crap and proceed with the movie..

The story of this movie is about ..... wait after watching it I still couldn't get what the movie is trying to convey. I find that there are many scene that is not necessary as it doesnt relate bad to any part of the story in the movie. If you ask me how nice is this movie then I would have to give a comparison to Ip Man.

Ip ManOng Bak 2
Short fighting sceneLong and nice fighting scene. Except that Tony is given too many weapon to fight with. Should have fight with bare hand instead
Storyline was ok and understandableStory line suck
Everything was connected perfectlyQuite a number of unrelated scene. Seems to be promoting Thai traditional culture

The whole movie, I'm just waiting for the fighting part as most of time, the english subtitle were overlap with malay wording.. wtf.. _)(*&^%$#@!
